DFM Review

$299 fixed — no surprises

Before you pay for tooling, pay for certainty. A manufacturing engineer reviews your design files and tells you — in writing — what will mold cleanly, what will fail, and what each fix costs. Most design flaws are found here, for $299, instead of in a $7,000 mold.

What we check

Every review covers these points, applied to your specific geometry:

What you receive

  • Written DFM report (PDF), typically 8–15 pages with annotated screenshots of your model
  • Each issue rated by severity: must-fix / should-fix / nice-to-fix
  • Concrete fix suggestions, not just problem lists
  • Rough tooling cost estimate for your part as designed — and as fixed
  • One round of follow-up questions by email, answered by the reviewing engineer

Delivery: report within 3 business days of receiving complete files.

What we need from you

  • 3D CAD files (STEP or IGES preferred; SolidWorks, Fusion 360 also fine)
  • 2D drawings if you have them (tolerances, threads, surface finish notes)
  • Target material, if decided — or tell us the function and we'll suggest
  • Expected annual volume (rough is fine: hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands)

No CAD yet? Talk to us first — we can start from sketches.

What we don't do

We don't redesign your product for you — that's engineering work, quoted separately. We don't rubber-stamp bad designs either. If your part isn't ready for tooling, the report will say so, plainly. That honesty is what you're paying for.
